The fund for Global Human Rights

Created in 2002 by a group of prominent activists and donors, the Fund fills a critical gap in the charity sector by connecting grassroots human rights defenders to flexible funding, long-term strategic support, and a global network of allies. We look for local leaders who are protecting and promoting the rights of their community—then we provide the money, tools, and training they need to succeed. For over 20 years, the Fund for Global Human Rights has raised and invested more than $140 million into the work of 900+ activists and organizations across the globe. We have the systems in place to get money and support to hard to reach places, like those affected in Morocco, quickly.

The 6.8M earthquake hit in a mountainous area near Ighil, Morocco, about 50 miles from historic Marrakesh with a strength not recorded in the region in 120 years.
