Communication and Social Media Lead
Abimana Chançard is a multifaceted individual with a passion for storytelling and social change. He is a filmmaker, journalist, communication specialist, and human rights activist based and living in Bujumbura, Burundi. He is dedicated to telling multidimensional African narratives, as identified and defined by the lived experiences of people residing within the continent.
Currently, Abimana is the managing director of IMPAKT, a non-profit organization in Burundi, whose goal is to teach young people the basics of filmmaking techniques and enable them to become the storytellers of their own community. Through IMPAKT, he is working to empower the next generation of African storytellers, giving them the tools and skills they need to tell their own stories and bring about positive change in their communities.
Abimana is also the founder of a local television called Argos, with the goal of creating a platform for the voices and stories of the local community to be heard.
In addition to his work as a filmmaker and educator, Abimana is also a committed human rights activist, working towards a happy and safe society. He uses his skills in communication and storytelling to raise awareness about important social issues, and to bring about positive change in his community. He is also the Communication and Social Media Lead of Volunteers4Cause, an organization that aims to bring about positive change through volunteerism.
